Why should I use a video when applying for a job?
It is important to present who you are in addition to what you have done in your CV/resume. A traditional cover letter does not give a true image of why you are the right person for the job. With a video presentation, you can showcase who you are as a person. It is not discriminating, like a photo in a CV, which only would give employers a superficial impression based on how you look. With a video, you can give a preview of what they can expect in an interview and you can describe your motivation to apply for the job easier and more clearly than you can in writing.
Why should I use My1Min and not just make a video on my own?
If you just send a video to an employer, you lose control over what will happen to it after an employer has viewed it. To avoid that your video presentations appears in other circumstances later, you should retain control over your video, and be able to delete it whenever you want. My1Min is created for the candidate's security, and the only solution where you can do this.

Also, employers who receive and evaluate many job applications should receive professional presentations, not lasting more than 1 minute duration, which our solution does. Every video is within the same format, recorded in one take, making it easy to watch. By using My1Min you will appear more professional and the employer has your video presentation, CV and contact information in one place. Can a video presentation be discriminating in the hiring process?
No, definitely the opposite! A photo is discriminating, as it only gives an employer a shallow impression based on your looks. Do I need to install anything to use My1Min?
No, My1Min is a full web-based product you can use online, without any installation. If you choose to use your smartphone or tablet instead of a PC/Mac, you need to install our app extension to be able to record a video. In that case, you will be directed to App Store or Google Play to download our app when you start to record.
How many videos can I make for free?
You may record as many videos as you want, to apply for any job, so that you can create one video presentation for each job you apply for. This way, you can personalize the presentation to each job you apply for, like you would have done earlier in an old-fashioned cover letter.

How do I record a video?
Using a PC or Mac, you must use Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox web browsers. Other browsers do not support recording of video.

If you use a smartphone or tablet, log on to your My1Min account through your default web browser. Follow the steps to record and you will be directed to the App Store/Google Play to download our app extension to use for recording.

How do I send a video?
If you record a video on your own initiative (without a link from a job ad/employer), you find the link below each video under My Videos. Copy the link and paste it in your application (via e-mail or an online application form). The receiver will click the link, which opens your video presentation, contact information, the brief presentation you write in your profile page, as well as your CV/resume.

If you record a video through a link from a job ad/employer, the video is sent directly to the hiring manager when you press "APPLY".
How can I delete a video?
In your video archives (My Videos or My Applications) you find a trash bin below each video. When deleting your video, it will become unavailable for everyone who may have received it.

Do you only want to delete your videos?

How much does My1Min cost to use?
We offer digital folders to receive and handle job applications with video and have two different types of video to choose from. You only pay per recruitment process, without recurring subscriptions, so the price is based on your needs. Check out our products and prices.

Do you offer a large candidate database?
We do not offer a database with candidates. You advertise your opening wherever you want, add a link to the digital folder you will receive applications in My1Min, and candidates will click this link to sign in/register, add their CV/resume, write a short cover letter and record a video presentation. Everything is immediately updated in your folder, where you evaluate applications, write internal comments with your colleagues, rate the applications and communicate with the candidates.
How does My1Min work?
My1Min is easy to use and only includes the features you need for pre-screening candidates before an interview. Although the technology behind is complex, it is not complex to learn how to use it. You also do not need to install anything to use our services.
  1. Create a company profile. The person creating your profile will automatically become the company administrator. From the administrator user profile, invite colleagues to join, in order to evaluate candidates.
  2. Buy a digital folder where you will receive and administer applications.
  3. Create a digital folder with a description of what you want candidates to present in their application. Add the users from your company who should evaluate candidates.
  4. Copy the link to this folder and paste it in your job announcement - you advertise your opening wherever you want.
  5. Candidates who click this link will sign in/register as a user, upload their CV, write a brief cover letter and record a video presentation up to 1 minute. Please note that recording video is optional for the candidates, so if you want all applicants to apply with a video, you need to state this in your job announcement.
  6. Receive all applications in the folder, where you evaluate CVs and video presentations, write internal comments with your colleagues, send messages to candidates and send rejections to those who do not continue in the hiring process.
Do I need to install anything to use My1Min?
No, My1Min is a full web-based product you can use online, without any installation.
How do I create a digital folder?
You need to have folder products available to create a digital folder to receive applications. Please purchase the kind of folder you would like to create. Each folder is active for 60 days from the day of creation, and may be extended for another 60 days if needed.

How do I manage applications?
It is very easy to manage received applications. You find information about a candidate and a brief cover letter under the Profile. Here you can also view/download the CV/resume and watch their video presentation. In addition, you can write internal comments with colleagues and send messages to candidates, including a final rejection note to end the process.

How do I change administrator for our company account?
To change the administrator, please contact My1Min Customer Support to request the change.
How do I rate applications?
It is very easy to rate received applications in the traditional Yes, No, Maybe and Favorite options. Simply click on the smiley icon until your rating is finished.

You can sort applications on ratings, to easily find those you wish to invite to an interview and those who will receive a rejection note.
How do I create a profile?

How do I add colleagues in My1Min?
As an account administrator, you invite colleagues who should evaluate applications in your user profile. Simply enter their e-mail address(es) and they will receive an e-mail with a link to register in your company. Each e-mail address can only be connected to one user account in My1Min. After your colleagues has registered in your company account, you can change their user rights. Rights as Team Member is default and can be changed to Manager.

Manager user rights:
The same rights as Administrator, except the possibility to delete the company account.

Team Member user rights:
Can view, comment, evaluate as well as chat with candidates. Cannot buy digital folders or create new ones.

How do I delete a company profile?
You can delete a company profile forever from the Administrator's user profile. Deleting a profile is permanent and cannot be restored.
How do I send rejections to candidates?
Simply mark the candidate(s) you want to send rejection note to, click on "Send rejection" and write a message that will be sent to the candidate(s) you have marked.

Rejected candidate's names will be struck out and further communication possibilities will be ended.
How do I change password or delete my profile?
You can easily change your password in your user profile. Here, you can also delete your profile, if you no longer want to have a profile on My1Min.
